What does a personal protection system do?
Some occupants are at greater risk from a fire than others and require extra protection. This can come in the form of a personal protection system. They are often used for people with limited mobility or people who are bedridden. They are especially useful for care homes and in the homes of more vulnerable people.
A personal protection system is a local application which automatically extinguishes a fire when activated once a fire is detected. Once a risk has been identified, these systems are designed to be quickly and easily installed to remove the threat as soon as possible. Reducing the level of fire risk for a vulnerable person as quickly as possible is vital.
Here at Surefire we have the UltraGuard personal protection system which has been saving around 10 lives every year since it was developed. It is completely self-contained and easily plugged into the nearest socket or fused spur, making it perfect for flexible fire protection to enhance risk management.
UltraGuard is certified to LPS 1655 standards, BRE Global’s dedicated fire performance standard for personal protection systems. It is designed to protect the vulnerable within our communities and is widely accepted by UK Fire Authorities, Councils and Housing Associations.
With this is mind the product we provide is intelligently designed and offers valuable protection against the threat of a fire. If you would like to find out more about our personal protection system please get in touch.
