Passive: Passive fire protection is all about limiting the spread of a fire and protecting escape routes. Specialist systems can be placed within the structure of building with the aim of compartmentalising it. This way a fire can be restricted for a certain period of time to only one area of a building to allow a phased or simultaneous evacuation.
