Taking Care of Crisis at Christmas

Every year Crisis run a campaign for Christmas to support and help the homeless with food packages and vital items such as toiletries and clothing. This year Crisis are running their large scale operation from a warehouse in Canning Town where they are collecting and distributing items much needed Christmas spirit for everyone. Last year, the campaign helped to deliver hundreds of food packages to people facing homelessness, and 2,004 wellbeing packs with vital information, advice and essentials to help with life on the streets.

The Surefire team have supported Crisis for several years, and this year one of our experienced extinguisher engineers carried out the maintenance of the fire extinguishers protecting this vital distribution warehouse. During the service visit, the engineer completed a check of the fire protection coverage within the warehouse and whether the fire extinguishers were correctly positioned and clearly indicated.

To ensure compliance to the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order, a fire risk assessment was also carried out to help Crisis identify any fire hazards and risks within the building so that they could take any measures necessary.
