Surefire’s UltraGuard portable personal protection system was introduced in 2010 and has been a pioneering development in the field of fire safety. It is particularly invaluable for protecting the elderly and vulnerable, suppressing the fire at an early stage and allowing time for evacuating the premises and for the fire services to arrive.

UltraGuard is a water mist system so unlike conventional sprinkler systems, it will atomise the water into tiny micro-droplets. This personal protection system is highly effective as a fire and smoke suppressant, reducing temperature and carbon monoxide levels while the oxygen level within the room will remain the same. The gentle action of UltraGuard’s water mist spray has also been shown not to have a traumatic effect on occupants within or exiting a building.

Each UltraGuard unit holds over 110 litres of water and the consistent spray of water mist into a room will last for ten minutes, suppressing an area of up to 16 square metres and controlling an area twice that size. UltraGuard is the only personal protection system to have been accredited with BRE (Building Research Establishment) LPS1655 certification. This means that it was able to meet rigorous test protocols and performance criteria to fulfil the requirements for compliance.
