Ranked in the Deloitte Fast 50 Tech track as one of the UK’s fastest growing companies, LDex Group deliver mission critical data centre and network solutions to businesses around the world. Levels of fire protection are paramount for their clients, especially due to the mission critical nature of applications and data stored within their data centres.
As part of their fire protection strategy, LDex approached Surefire to install gas suppression systems within their London and Manchester data centres. FM200 was selected for the systems due to its non-destructive nature making it environmentally friendly and safe for human exposure. FM200 fire extinguishing gas works by removing the heat from the fire within seconds minimises atmospheric toxicity and the generation of smoke and soot.
Due to the size of the Manchester data centre, four large cylinders, each with 150 litres of gas protect the application area. Monitored by 24 smoke detectors, an analogue addressable fire alarm control panel was installed to operate a cause and effects programme. This facilitates the ease of identification and monitors the performance of each some detector.
Each system was managed by our in-house Project Manager, who worked within the site programme to deliver fully installed systems by the deadlines.
