Alan Neenan, MD of Surefire Systems, received a certificate as the first company to achieve accreditation under the SP203 Scheme for gaseous fire extinguishing systems during the 2006 Firex North exhibition in Harrogate. Surefire Systems, who celebrated their 25th anniversary in August, 2006, narrowly beat Essex-based Fire Alarm Solutions to be first, achieving their accreditation through BSI, the latest certification body to take on the BAFE schemes. David Simmonds, Chairman of Surefire, sees the scheme as central to raising standards in the fire Industry: "Quality has always been important to us. We were the first company to hold the LPS 1014 and 1204 schemes in tandem. Now we see BAFE as offering the all encompassing package to ensure competency throughout the industry, particularly in light of the new Fire Safety Order.''
