Inert Gas Innovations - Lower Pressure, Lower Risk, Lower Cost

Inert gases are a safe and natural way to extinguish a fire and the system Surefire recommends, Fike’s PROINERT™, has special design features that give it the edge over competitive products, making it both safer and more economical than other systems on the market.

The Benefits Of PROINERT Over Competitive Inert Gas Systems

Competitive systems

Most inert gas systems discharge from containers at high pressure, then reduce pressure further down the pipe network, requiring a complex and expensive configuration of high and low pressure piping. Discharge from the nozzle into the protected space at a high surge flow rate creates potentially hazardous pressure peaks and excessive use of the extinguishing gas.

PROINERT system

PROINERT has a leading edge design valve outlet that reduces the pressure at discharge and creates a constant low pressure flow rate. There is no need for high pressure pipework, making for a significant reduction in the cost of the system. Also, because the flow rate is at a constant low pressure, this stops high risk turbulence, pressure peaks and excess gas production. In other words, the PROINERT system:

  • Is safer for people in the vicinity of the protected area
  • Avoids expensive wastage of the extinguishing gas
  • Economises on pipework
  • Reduces the need for costly ventilation (60% less venting area is required)
